Hi, my name is Panda. I was born the 5th puppy and only girl in my litter. Unfortunately, a couple days after I was born, my foster Mommy found out I had a cleft palate. Not uncommon among Chihuahuas but a death sentence if someone didn’t start tube feeding me. With a hole in my palate it is like trying to drink through a straw with a hole in it! It is so much work and not enough gets in my tummy.
So my adventure began... tube feeding every 2 hours and going everywhere with my foster Mommy - even a wedding in Sheboygan!!! I am now 3 weeks old and finally back a my birth weight of 5 oz. It has taken a lot of work to get me this far and I still have a long way to go. I am a fighter and I can lead a full, normal life but I need some help. I need to have my cleft repaired, but the surgery is expensive - even though the specialist is giving Almost Home Foundation a discount. With all of the sick dogs & cats coming in Almost Home needs some help funding the surgery.
