Checkers is a beautiful black and white long-haired, golden eyed female who is seeking a gentle cat-loving man for companionship. Loves to take care of her beautiful fur coat. She knows how beautiful she is - yet still remains a down to earth girl!!

Loves to play with balls and toy mice, chasing the laser light, listening to music, which actually calms her. Long walks on beach not necessary. She likes to find a secret hiding space on cold or rainy days/nights to curl up in and take a beauty nap in. Giving her a box with a nice fleece blanket or soft towel will do. She really is a simple girl who really appreciates the basics. She loves her food wet and dry and has a good healthy ladies appetite. Sitting on the back of a chair or couch so she can look out to the outside is another enjoyable past time.

Checkers is at a point right now of confusion. She doesn't understand what she could have done to lose the home she had. She is feeling scared and defensive. She is working on trusting again, though the person who gives this girl a home will need to be patient, gentle and consistent.

Someone (probably female) must have treated her badly in her unknown past. She is fearful around women, but feels safe with a man. If there is a man around she doesn't feel threatened and is very loving with everyone than. She definitely has lots of love to give! She will arch her back and rub up against you for pets and attention. She listens and watches as you talk with her. She really wants to make a connection, she just needs someone to give her the time needed.
