Meet Crystal, a calm and quiet sweetheart who
will bring a smile to your face every day. She is a bit shy at first, but really
can't resist belly rubs, petting, and sitting in laps. She's a silly girl and
can be a tease sometimes, but when she wants attention, she'll let you know.
Much of the time, she is a serious lap cat!
Crystal is half and half--we say that because half of the time, she is calm,
quiet, and cuddly; the other half of the time, she is playful and funny. She
loves her kitty tunnel and likes to be up high, spying on everything beneath
her. She is constantly on top of the kitty tower, shelves, and boxes.
Crystal also likes to wrestle with her brother Laser, who really brings out her
playful side. Crystal has been telling us that she wants to be adopted with
Laser. They make a truly wonderful pair and it is a delight to watch them
together. They balance each other out perfectly: Crystal keeps Laser calm when
needed, and Laser reminds her to have fun and play. They can be separated but
they would be happiest if adopted together.
Crystal's story had a sad beginning. As a kitten, she was with a hoarder who
kept over a dozen black cats in birdcages. Luckily, Almost Home rescued the
kitties. Some of them had eye infections, and Crystal's infection was so bad
that she ended up with a cataract in one of her eyes. This requires no special
treatment and she is not blind. Her eyesight is just a bit "cloudy" in
that eye.
Crystal hasn't been exposed to dogs or children. She is 1 year old (born
4/1/2008) and is litterbox trained, microchipped, spayed, and has all of her
vaccinations. If you're interested in adopting Crystal, you can contact her
foster family at katylynne@prodigy.net.
PS: You can meet Crystal and Laser at the Petsmart on Gary Avenue almost every
Saturday from 11-3, when we hold our adoption shows. Crystal and Laser are also
at the Bloomingdale Petsmart Luv-a-Pet center twice a week, usually on Mondays
and Wednesdays/or Fridays. They look forward to meeting you!
