I am Max--a Gentle Giant extraordinaire, a big old softie at heart, and a total marshmallow man! Yes, I’m shy and quiet at first, but I am very friendly and talkative once I get into the swing of things. I’ll follow you around and will spin in circles as you pet me!
I hide at first when I’m with someone new, but guess what? I’m not too good at hiding! It’s easy to find me--mostly because, even though I’m totally unsure of new people and new places, I want to be found. I really want someone to love and cuddle up with. Give me a chin rub, say my name, pet my fur, toss a toy...and out I come. I might go back into hiding, but I come out again soon enough. After awhile of this, hiding will be a thing of the past.
I spent the first four years of my life as someone’s pet. But a few months ago, my owner moved away and left me behind. Ouch--that really hurt me a lot! Now I’m on the hunt for someone new.
My foster family keeps saying there’s a forever home out there for me...but I’m beginning to think it’s all just a pipe dream. You see, I’m a big cat, shy at first, and already an adult kitty. I don’t know why these things are considered drawbacks--but it’s been several months and still nobody has adopted me, or even asked about me! Everyone wants a tiny friendly kitten and I just don’t fit the bill. I’m learning the hard way that life isn’t always fair.
Did you know that I still have the energy of a kitten? Fetch is my absolute favorite game! Did you know that I’m very handsome? With my thick, fluffy orange fur, I look like a lion. Did you know that I’m very gentle and have a heart of gold? I wouldn’t hurt a fly. So...if you want a gentle lion kitty to play fetch with...well, here I am!
If you’ve made it this far into my story...then I hope it means that you’re different from everyone else. That you are willing to give me a chance. Please don’t turn your back on me like so many others have. Won’t you be my hero?
