It was like a scene from ANIMAL COPS on TV...he had been
left to die in a locked apartment. No food. No water. When
the door was finally open, he was too feeble to lift his head.
The rescuers rushed him to safety, but wondered if he would
make it through the night. He did and never stopped weakly
wagging his bony tail. The shots and infusions of fluids let
him know that someone cared. The call went out for help- this
boy is too sweet to give up on. He weighed only 34 pounds
when he came into foster care, his big eyes saying thank you
as they drove through the rain.
Two months later, Peanut Butter is an exuberant, healthy
and happy dog. He loves to play with balls, squeaky toys and
will tear a stuffed animal to shreds in minutes. He knows
most commands and responds best to a calm voice. He loves
people and could be a couch potato if given the chance. He
will do best as an only dog and will excel at loving and protecting
his new family.
