My
wonderful volunteer foster parent wrote this story about me.
Bernard (who we affectionately call Bernie) is a big, beautiful
boy. Bernie is true to his German Sheppard breed. He is a
very loyal. He looks at you with very soulful eyes and follows
you everywhere!
Bernie is good with other dogs and gets along with the 4
other dogs in his foster home nicely. None of the dogs are
crated during the day. Sometimes Bernie is a talker - and
will make big groans! He also cries when you leave.
Despite his age, Bernie is full of life and personality.
He is a happy boy and seems to be elated with small things
- such as a walk or ride in the car.
Bernie is fully housebroken. Never an accident. He loves
food, water and treats! He takes treats gently - and patiently
waits his "turn" after the other four dogs in our
home get theirs first.
Bernie has been given a blanket for a bed. In the evening
- all you need to do is put the blanket down - and say "Lay
down boy" and he will sleep on the blanket. Bernie does
not try to jump on the furniture - however, we have not encouraged
it. It is amazing that he stays down - when the other four
are all over the furniture!
Bernie is a great dog and will be a wonderful addition to
the right home. If you love to hang out with a dog - and go
for rides with one - then Bernie may be the boy for you.
