My
wonderful volunteer foster parent wrote this story about me.
My name is Gallagher. I am a 7 year old beagle/basset hound
mix. Don't let my age fool you though; I still have a lot
of spunk in me. I love my chew toys, which I carry around
in my mouth and even sometimes bring outside in the yard with
me. My foster mom caught me trying to burying one the other
day. Fetch is one of my favorite past times. I also love sunbathing
in the backyard and playing chase with my foster sister and
brother. As energetic as I am, I also love to cuddle. As soon
as someone sits down, I am right by their side awaiting a
belly rub or an ear scratch.
During the day while my foster family is at work, I am very
well behaved. I chew only on my toys and bones. I am totally
housebroken and will ask to go out by sitting at the door.
However, I really look forward to their return as it means
it is time for a walk. I don't think I got a lot of walks
with my other family as I do a pull quite a bit. But my foster
mom is very patient and I am slowly learning to heel. Walking
is very important for me as you may have notice I am a little
overweight. My new family will need to be committed to helping
me maintain a healthy weight through daily exercise and diet.
So if you think you might have room in your heart (and in
your home)for a silly dog like me please come and meet me
one saturday at the adoption show. I know I would love to
meet you.
