A dog's life can be so sad...

My owner gave me up to a kill shelter because he had "too many dogs". I could have been put to sleep, but luckily Almost Home saved me just before the 4th of July. They thought it was cute to call me Firecracker. What do you think?

I am a small, 35 pound Boxer mix with a full tail and about 1 1/2 years old. What else is mixed in? Nobody knows, but I have mostly brown fur and the black muzzle and mask like a Boxer. My eyes are dark and round and just like in a Boxer my lower jaw is longer than my upper one which makes my snout look really cute. The nice thing is I don't drool.

I am very comfortable with other dogs and not aggressive at all. I like to snuggle up with my foster dog siblings. When meeting people I am a bit timid at first, but once I get to know I am very affectionate and like to give kisses. I was not familiar with cats before, but I am getting to know them here at my foster home.

Outside I like to run around, but inside I am calm, housebroken and don't need to be crated. With time and more socialization I will overcome my shyness, but right now it would be better if you had a dog friend for me that could model the desired, less timid behavior for me.

Give me a chance and come meet me at the next adoption show. I am so cute!
