Harlow has had a rough start to life. She was found wandering in traffic, and had a Good
Samaritan not stopped and picked her up she might not be here today. She has
unfortunately already had puppies and she is only a year old. We have taken care of
that, as she was spayed on July 8, 2009. The vet said she is a very healthy 15 pound Pug
and is now up to date with all her vaccinations. Harlow has also tested negative for
heartworm and started on preventative.
Harlow is a true “Velcro Dog.” She wants to be with her human at ALL times. She
snuggles next to you whether you are on the couch or in bed. She will lie in her doggie
bed in the kitchen and watch you attentively. The minute you walk to another room, she
is following your every footstep. She is your shadow! Harlow requires a great deal of
human attention.
Harlow is very timid and extremely sensitive to loud noises. We are working on building
her confidence, but she will need patience and understanding to accomplish this. Harlow
will tolerate some dogs but does not do well with dogs that are overly excited or
aggressive in any way. She acts much the same with people that she does not know.
Harlow enjoys several walks on a leash each day. This exercise is ideal for her since Pugs
can be very inactive and are prone to obesity. She should not be allowed outside without
supervision due to her flight response, especially to noise. An over stimulating
environment would not be ideal for her. She is completely housebroken and has never had
a single accident in the house.
Ideally, Harlow would like her forever home to have her human home all day, perhaps an
active retired person or couple. She would need a person that will take her out for her
walks several times each day and aware of the special care and health issues that come
with owning a Pug.
Harlow has captured our hearts, both with her spirit and her cute and cuddly face. If
you are looking for a gentle, sweet, loveable little girl, and would like additional
