Bow wow my name is Amour

My Cherie AMOUR!!
We had to re-name her after we got to know her…she is such a LOVER!
Again another poor dog that was given up by her owner to a high kill shelter.  She was saved by AHF literally at the 11th hour thank God! Although she is listed as a Shepherd mix, she is much smaller, maybe 45# and I’m guessing maybe mixed with a smaller hound.  Her coat is plush and her ears have that velvet hound look and feel, pretty little white sox and amber eyes that will melt your heart!

I am her proud foster mom and so far can not see any reason that she would have been given up.  She is a very low energy dog that mostly wants to cuddle and snooze (even during the Super bowl!).  She is very lady like in taking her treats, walking nicely on a leash and meeting other dogs and cats.  Not much of a big player with other dogs, just sniff, tail wag and on her way.  She would be fine in a house with other dogs and/or cats, but just as happy to be your 1 and only Amour.

Kids are fine with her as she is so easy going!  Her 1st night here, she had a chew bone and my 2yr old granddaughter came up on the couch and laid right on top of her without any problems or growling!  She goes outside and goes potty right away so appears to be fully housebroken.  However, she has had a couple of indoor accidents the 1st day which is to be expected in a new home, so will update as the week goes on.  She is too much of a lady to “counter surf” or “garbage dive” and does not jump up on you.  Not sure about how she feels being crated as it is not necessary and seems to prefer a couch, bed or comfy spot on the floor.  She has slept on our bed without problems during the night, so if you like to sleep in, not a problem! Oh and we have not even heard her bark yet either inside or out!

Please come see her this weekend at our Adopt-a-thon, she should be adopted quickly because of her outstanding character and loving personality!
