Do you know that most black dogs never make it alive out of kill shelters? I thought I was going to die, but the AHF rescued me. I went into a foster home and have been living here ever since. Not too many people have even looked at me online and they bypass me at the shows to adopt the more colorful dogs, the golden, white, and brown dogs. I don't understand why, what's wrong with black? I think black is very elegant color and looks good against snow in the winter and grass in the summer.
1. My name: My name isn't the cutest for a female. My name means gentleway in the encyclopedia.
2. My size: I am about 50 pounds, big enough to do things with, like going on long hikes, playing ball and running around, but not so big that I take up the whole room(or bed if you like) when i lay down.
3. Housebroken: I do not go to the bathroom inside, absolutely not! I know that's what the yard it for.
4. Crate trained: You want to crate me while you are gone? No problem, I'll lie lie doen and go to sleep or eat my treat. I will go in my crate to sleep while you are home as well.
5. Social: I am a very social dog and i love people more then anything, but I am good with dogs. There are 2 adult male dogs and 1 adult female here and we get along.(I have learned that I am supposed to just ignore the cats.)
6. Playful: I am full of energy. I love to play. I am still learning how to bring the ball back, but I will chase the ball when you throw is. Tug a war is one of my favorite things to do.
7. Smart: I do know how to sit. If you say the word I will sit without you telling me to. I do know the word down. I have all most mastered rollover but still need a little help.
8. Loyal: Unlike humans I will never cancel on a dinner date. I am ready to accompany you on any run, walk, or bike day or night. I love to be out and about andI ride well in the car too.
9. Not a barker: Okay, I admit that I do bark when someone comes to the house or if I see another dog walking by. But I don't carry on forever.
10. Last but not least. I am a very sweet dog. How about it? At least meet me and give me a chance. Black dogs deserve adoptive homes, too.
