Bow wow my name is Ozone

Do you know that most black dogs never make it alive out of kill shelters? I thought I was going to die, but then AHF rescued me. I went into a foster home and have been living here ever since. Not too many people have even looked at me online and they bypass me at shows to adopt the more colorful dogs, the golden, white and brown dogs. I don't understand why, what's wrong with black? I think black is a very elegant color and looks good against snow in winter and grass in summer.

1. My age: Well, I admit, I am not a puppy any more, but a dog at age 5 is like a person of 35 and that's not old at all, right? I have left the craziness of the puppy stage behind but I still have plenty of energy left, probably more than you think.

2. My size: I am under 50 pounds, big enough to do things with, like going on long hikes, playing ball and running around, but not so big that I take up the whole room (or bed if you like) when I lie down.

3. Housebroken: I do not go to the bathroom inside, absolutely not! I know that's what the yard is for.

4. Crate trained: you want to crate me while you are gone? No problem, I'll just lie down and go to sleep or eat my treat.

5. Social: I am a very social dog and I love people more than anything, but I am also good with dogs as long as they are not dominant. There are 2 adult females and a puppy here and we all get along. (I have learned that I am supposed to just ignore the cats, but my foster mom would not trust me around them without supervision.)

6. Playful: some people might think I am not playful because I am not a puppy anymore, but I have a lot of playfulness in me. I love to fetch any kind of ball or toy and when you are tired of throwing it, I can entertain myself by running around and tossing it into the air.

7. Smart: who says I am too old to learn new tricks? I learned to ring the bells by the door when I want to go outside.

8. Loyal: Unlike human buddies I will never let you down and cancel an exercise date- I am ready to accompany you on any run/walk/hike, day or night. I love to be out and about and I ride very well in the car, too.

9. Not a barker: Unfortunately when I go to shows, I get really worked up and tend to bark, but that's not how I am usually are. Okay, I admit that I do bark when someone comes to the house, but I don't carry on forever.

10. Last but not least: I am a very handsome dog with shiny fur and a twinkle in my eyes. How about it? At least meet me and give me a chance. Black dogs deserve adoptive homes, too.

Ready to meet me? Just come to the next adoption show and look for me. I am waiting.
