Rikkie is a 5 pound chihuahua that was picked up as a local stray but never claimed by her owners. She is gaining much-needed weight nicely.
Rikkie is not your typical chihuahua as she is very outgoing and loves attention from anyone. She lives harmoniously with 3 other dogs but has no interest in playing with them. If another dog gets too intrusive with her she will growl at them.
What she really wants is to be held or to cuddle up next to a person. She likes to run around the house and yard and seems very healthy. Rikkie is happiest on the couch or gathering up "treasures" to put in her dog bed. She is just learning how to play with toys. Rikkie is very smart and wants to please. She came to us paper trained but is now housetrained on a strict schedule so she could go whichever way works best for you for toileting. She just wants to do whatever it takes for you to tell her she's a good girl! Like all tiny dogs, she will do best in a quiet home with no small children. If you think Rikkie might be the dog for you, email the foster home for more information.
