Cheers
SHE IS NOT A SITCOM BUT NEEDS “EVERYONE TO KNOW HER NAME”
Cheers is a beautiful 2 ½ year old Basset/Terrier mix that is waiting for her forever home. Cheers was found as a local stray and her time was up at one of the local shelters. Almost Home Foundation saw this girl with her sleek brown and white hair and soulful eyes and couldn’t let her be given up on. We shudder to think of what might have happened to Cheers if she would have stayed in that shelter..
All Cheers wants is to love and be loved. She can be hesitant and shy with men, but once she meets you and sees that you are not going to hurt her, she does fine. This reaction makes us wonder what has happened to this poor girl.
Cheers love to play and run around the yard for exercise. Walks are a wonderful part of her day as well. She is not a couch potato but does settle in after some good exercise. Cheers has been through training. She knows her basic commands and seems eager to please. The mental stimulation of training helps Cheers to focus and use up some energy. Even if you just spend 5 minutes a day working on reinforcing the basic commands of sit, down, and come, it will be fantastic for Cheers. Working slowly with Cheers in order to build her confidence is important.
She has participated in doggie daycare and gets along good with the other dogs. Cheers would do best with active owners and just like all canines, she just wants to love and be loved. She is a solid strong dog and we suggest no little children as she may knock them down without trying to.
