Mamma Mia!

This sweet brown tabby girl may look familiar to some of you: Mamma Mia (everyone calls her Mia for short) was featured on our website last year, when she was pregnant with kittens. A year later, she is still waiting for her forever home.

You’re probably familiar with “tough years”…the year when many things just went wrong for you. 2011 was Mia’s tough year. It wasn’t all bad—she was rescued into a great foster home! But before that happened, she was a stray mama cat with five kittens to take care of. A kind person took the family in, only to find out that Mia was already pregnant with a second litter of kittens.

Mia’s first kittens were gorgeous, healthy, and very friendly. They were all adopted almost immediately at their first and second adoption shows. Shortly after that, Mia suffered a miscarriage with her second litter of kittens. She lost all of them.

After Mia recovered from that experience, she was spayed and went up for adoption. She was soon adopted, but then the family returned her. It wasn’t Mia’s fault—she just wasn’t a good fit for that particular family, which happens sometimes. It just wasn’t meant to be.

Mia has been patiently waiting for her happy ending ever since. It’s hard to believe that a sweetheart like Mia doesn’t have a home. She is such a nice cat! She has a gentle personality and is very sweet, quiet, and calm. She enjoys being brushed and gets along fine with other cats. She also loves people. All of the volunteers love her right back (it’s impossible not to!)

Mia is a wonderful cat who just hasn’t had the easiest life so far. She’s eagerly waiting for her lucky break! Can you help her find her happy ending? Can you help make this year her best year ever—the year when she finally finds a forever home?

featured catMia was born in April 2010 and is spayed, microchipped, litterbox trained, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting her, please contact us at cats@almosthomefoundation.org. Mia really hopes you’ll give her a chance!
