Max
“Max needs someone special with a big, cat-loving heart!”
Max is one lucky kitty! This handsome orange tabby was all alone outside when he came across a coyote. At that moment, somebody opened the door to their house, and Max immediately ran inside to safety! Max is a smart boy and is now happy and safe in a foster home. Doesn't he look pleased with himself in his photos?
At his veterinary exam, Max tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). FIV is a slow virus that gradually affects an infected cat's immune system over time. Most FIV+ cats live long, healthy lives without showing any symptoms of the virus. It is only contagious to other cats through blood transfusions and bite wounds. It is not transmittable to humans.
Max is such a friendly and nice boy — he deserves a home and family just as much as any other cat does. He's worried that his FIV diagnosis will be a deal breaker with adopters, though. He needs someone special with a big, cat-loving heart! If you can give him a chance, please contact us at cats@almosthomefoundation.org. Max really wants to meet you!
Max was born in January 2009 and is neutered, microchipped, litterbox trained, and fully vaccinated.
