medical services provided for our felines
Almost Home Foundation offers a 30 day Shelter Care gift at time of adoption:

Our rescued cats are:
- examined by a vet
- FELV/FIV tested
- given a booster (FVRCP)
- given rabies shot
- microchipped
- spayed or neutered
- examined by a vet
- FELV/FIV tested
- given a booster shot
- and the balance of the medical is completed when the kitten is of age as follows: A kitten gets 3 booster/FVRCP shots. These are at specific age intervals. The first is at 8 weeks of age (provided the kitten is healthy and is 2 lbs). The second booster is given 21-28 days after the first booster. The last booster & rabies shot is given 21-28 days after the second
- spayed or neutered -
The spay/neuter occurs when the vet tells us the kitten is mature and ready to be neutered or spayed.
Please note our adoption fee covers the cost of the spay or neuter at one of our vet partners, but certain clinics require blood panels prior to surgery, and/or medications afterwards. Almost Home Foundation does not cover these additional costs.
Please be aware that there may be expenses not covered by Almost Home Foundation.
For example, we do not pay for rabies tags. Also some adopters choose to bring their newly adopted animals to their own vet, which is not one of our Animal
Care Providers. In this case, we are unable to reimburse for the costs of vetting. Since we are an all volunteer,
registered, not-for-profit 501c3 charity organization, our Animal Care Providers offer our group special rates and
or terms.
