Girls Night Out – Bartlett Hills Golf Club – Friday March 4th, 2011 Oh what a night it was!

What Girls Night Out event would be complete without a fashion show? Especially a Doggie Fashion Show! Dawn and Rachel, owners of Pampered Pooch Couture, put out a model call to Almost Home Foundation. We were thrilled to show off our great looking dogs in the latest fashions!

Dawn and Rachael have a small side business called Pampered Pooch Couture which specializes in handmade dog clothes that are sold at craft stores. This mother daughter duo also provide temporary homes for dogs of Almost Home Foundation! After being accepted as a vendor for The Girls Night Out event, they kiddingly talked about having a Doggie Fashion Show. This event already planned music, food, drinks, craft booths and highlighted a fashion show from one of the vendors.

The joke turned into reality and Pampered Pooch Couture needed to have doggie models. Who better to show off the fashions than the dogs from Almost Home! Models were picked and fashions were matched up. The dogs were ready in a line and then – one at a time (or sometimes 2)- the gorgeous models hit the runway; some running and some being pulled. One social pup, Ainslee, had to go out into the crowd and start licking the face of a surprised guest in the audience. The crowd went wild cheering with "Ooh's and Aah's" mixed in. The dogs had a lot of fun and were on their best behavior. And the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the show.

The Pampered Pooch Couture fashions were a hit and some of the models were subsequently adopted (not sure if the show helped but it sure didn’t hurt!). Can’t wait until next year's show!
