Guidelines
Add/Change Animal Bio
- Purpose: To allow volunteers to send a biography and photograph on a particular cat or dog.
- Access: Access is given to all volunteers
- Guidelines for the bio:
- The spelling of the animal's name must match the spelling on the Available page.
- The bios should contain an honest representation of the animal
- The bios should be stated in a positive tone
- The bios should highlight any cute or special feature of the animal
- The bios should NOT have any indication of age as the bio can quickly become outdated. The animal's age is calculated based on the Date of Birth in PetPoint - so the viewer can see the animal's age.
- Bios should NOT list the show the animal will be at on a specific date.
- Any Bio that does not seem to represent the animal well will be routed to an edited, rewritten or rejected by the Computer Services Team.
Send Photos / Video
- Please do NOT include people, children or other animals in the photos. For the security of children, it is AHF's policy to NOT show children on a bio page. No exceptions will be made for photos on bios.
- Only 3 photos may be used for any one animal. It is preferred that only 3 photos are sent. If more than 3 photos are submitted, 3 photos will be selected. The Computer Services Team may reject a photo if it is deemed of poor quality or inappropriate.
- Only 1 video may be used for any one animal. For videos, only 1 video should be submitted. All video's must be on AHF's Channel. Please limit the video length to no more than 2 to 3 minutes. The Computer Services Team may reject a video if it is deemed of poor quality or inappropriate.
- If an animal needs to have more than 3 photos, a special story will need to be written and submitted to info@almosthomefoundation.org with subject Special Story Wanted. No photos will be put on a Special Story without a written story.

- Please send photos to: biodogspics@almosthomefoundation.org for dogs. Be sure to include the animal's name in the subject of the email.
- Please send videos to: videos@almosthomefoundation.org for dogs. Be sure to include the animal's name in the subject of the email.
- The photos should include 1) close-up of the animal's face and 2) a full body photo to help show size and coat.
-
