Allie's family adopted
an AHF dog a few years ago. Allie and her mom wanted to help the dogs
that are in the kennel so they went there to walk them. Allie
made an instant connection with Rotty, an AHF dog waiting for a forever home.
Allie was VERY moved by the experience and wanted to do more. Allie
and her friend, Jenny made all kinds of chocolate covered treats (pretzels,
marshmallows, strawberries). They set up a stand at a corner and sold
all their treats. People
were just pulling over and giving a donation. It was wonderful to
watch! They took their profits and bought treats and toys. They
wanted to bring them to the kennel for the dogs there. Allie
felt MUCH better leaving the kennel this time. She said
leaving them behind with something they loved helped her. She couldn't
give Springsteen a rawhide due to him having a bad tummy....but she did give
him a squeeky toy. Allie's mom said "I don't think he knew what
to do with it though....sad to see a dog that doesn't know about squeeky
toys". Allie's
mom added "Very special...this changed her life. Thanks to AHF
and the special kennel dogs!!!"
A
BIG THANK YOU to Allie, Jenny and her mom for caring for the dogs at
the kennel. You are all heroes to these animals - and to all AHF.

| What nice manners
Troy has - as he gently takes his chew while in a sit position! |
Here's Rotty who loves
her chew! Rotty certainly has a new BFF |
This chew is almost
as big as Wally! Wally is partially blind but knew right
away this was a treat! |
