During
the month of March, the first
grade Brownie Troop #139 from Queen of the Rosary School in Elk
Grove Village held a 2-week Pet Care Drive at the school and
church. The troop began by visiting an animal
hospital in the area where the Brownies viewed animals that needed
medical attention. Their hearts grew even bigger after having an
AHF volunteer come to explain why cats
and dogs may be abandoned and how AHF helps these animals with
medical issues and prepares them for adoption. Afterwards
the girls decorated boxes and posters for the drive. They
collected more than 500 pet care items for the Almost
Home Foundation to help abandoned cats and dogs. This completes their
project to earn a Girl Scout Try-It for "Caring and Sharing".
We are so proud of the girls and are so grateful for the overwhelming
response we received.
Almost
Home Foundation is very thankful that for the help from these
Brownies!
